Man who became Cambridge’s youngest-ever Black professor dies days after resignation

Jason Arday, a former Cambridge professor, was found dead in London nine days after resigning amid allegations that he plagiarised his doctoral thesis. Arday became Cambridge’s youngest Black professor in 2023. London Mayor Sadiq Khan said Arday was subjected to unrelenting media scrutiny. In an interview earlier this month, Arday said the campaign against him was racially motivated.
