Explosive diarrhoea outbreak hits US

A parasite that causes explosive diarrhoea has spread across 17 states in the US. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the outbreak has affected 145 people between the ages of five and 86. The parasite, Cyclospora cayetanensis, causes cyclosporiasis, a foodborne illness that leads to explosive diarrhoea, severe stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue.
