Google unveils AI tool that can map 9 billion changes in human DNA

Google DeepMind has unveiled AlphaGenome Atlas, an AI tool mapping the effects of around nine billion possible single-letter changes in human DNA. It predicts how mutations affect gene regulation, protein production and other molecular processes, including in non-coding DNA. It also offers a Variant Impact Score that helps researchers identify significant mutations and advance disease research.
