US accuses Punjab Police officer of extorting $400,000 from LA family, to seek extradition

US federal prosecutors charged Punjab Police officer Gurinderjit Singh Nagra for allegedly threatening an LA-based family with false murder charges against their relatives in India and extorting $400,000 (over ₹3.80 crore). Prosecutors alleged that Nagra worked hand-in-glove with the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and said they would seek his extradition. He was SHO of Tanda police station, Hoshiarpur.
