Over 6.5 crore ITRs filed for AY 2026-27 so far

More than 6.5 crore income tax returns (ITRs), including over 2 crore ITRs 3 and 4, for AY 2026-27 had been filed as of August 20, the Income Tax Department said on Friday. "Avoid the last-minute rush," it wrote in a post on X. The department added, "File your ITR-3, 4, 5 and 7 (non-audit) before 31st August 2026."
