University of Toronto researchers have demonstrated an AI-powered computer worm, a type of malware, that adapts its strategy as it spreads from one device to the next. Each compromised machine becomes part of the worm's own infrastructure. Since the worm is powered by stolen compute, the attacker's marginal cost per new infection is zero, the researchers said.
