Lakshay and Ujjwal Kumar Singh, both serving soldiers in the Indian Army, scripted history by clinching country's first-ever gold medal at a World Rowing Cup event. They won the medal at 2026 World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland. Competing in the Lightweight Men's Double Sculls Final, they clocked 6:26.09 and finished ahead of Hong Kong (6:27.14).
