Why has South Korea's KOSPI crashed more than 16% in just a week?

South Korea's KOSPI saw a massive dip as it fell over 16% in just a week, triggering a 20-minute trading halt. Weakening AI sentiment pulled down chipmakers Samsung and SK Hynix shares, which together hold 60% of KOSPI's weightage. A sharp hike in prices of Apple's product and OpenAI reportedly delaying its IPO also contributed to the crash.
