Japan narrowly escapes recession

Japan's economy grew by just 0.1% in October-December when compared with the previous three months, falling short of the expected 0.4% growth and helping the country narrowly escape recession. Japan's economy shrank by 0.7% in July-September and would've been in recession if it had shrunk in October-December too. Japan's output also missed expectations of 1.6% rise, recording only 0.2% growth.
