China has begun producing immersion deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography machines, a key chipmaking tool long dominated by Europe's ASML, The Information reported. China plans to build about five DUV machines this year and 20 in 2027. The systems are the most advanced lithography tools available to Chinese chipmakers after export curbs blocked access to extreme ultraviolet (EUV) machines.
