Railway notifies new pension rules for disability, family benefits

The Railway Board has notified the Railway Services (Extraordinary Pension) Rules, 2026. The new rules govern family and disability pensions for deaths or impairments linked to railway service. Depending on the circumstances, eligible family members can receive 60% or 100% of the employee's pay. NPS-covered employees can also access these benefits if they opt for them.
