China planning futuristic nuclear-powered tank with 450 km firing range: Report

Chinese military researchers have proposed building a futuristic nuclear-powered battle tank armed with an electromagnetic railgun which can hit targets up to 450 km away. The researchers proposed a three-stage development path for a 60-tonne armoured vehicle powered by a 10-megawatt-class small modular reactor and a 50-megajoule (MJ) railgun. If the plan succeeds, the tank could debut after 2045.
