Rapido fined ₹10 lakh for 'Captains aren't accepting at ₹60, try adding +₹10' prompts

Rapido has been fined ₹10 lakh by CCPA for misleading ads, unfair trade practices, and dark patterns in which riders were prompted to pay more before their rides were confirmed. "Prompts like...'Captains aren't accepting at ₹60...Try adding...+10, +20' amount to 'Confirm Shaming'", CCPA said. Asking customers to pay additional amount before ride cannot be presented as genuine "tip", it added.
