Girl falls into 20-ft borewell while reaching out to tie rakhi to brother in UP

A 16-year-old girl fell into a nearly 20-foot-deep abandoned borewell at her home in Purwamir village, around 35 km from Kanpur, while preparing to tie a rakhi on her brother's wrist on Friday. A rescue operation is underway, with NDRF and SDRF teams excavating around 12 feet. Her family suspects recent rainfall weakened the ground around the abandoned borewell.
