France arrests 1,300+ as cost-of-living protests turn violent

France recorded over 1,300 arrests after protests against rising living costs turned violent in Paris, Marseille, and Lyon. Police deployed tear gas and water cannons as some protesters fired fireworks at officers. Around 70,000 security personnel were deployed nationwide. The Yellow Vests have announced fresh protests for October 31. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez condemned attacks on police.
