Adobe names Indian-origin executive Anil Chakravarthy as CEO

Adobe has appointed Indian-origin executive Anil Chakravarthy as its next CEO, succeeding Shantanu Narayen, who will step down after more than 18 years. Chakravarthy, who leads Adobe's marketing and analytics software business, will take charge on December 1, 2026. Narayen will become Executive Chair. David Wadhwani, who was a contender for the CEO role, is leaving Adobe after five years.
