Iran says Strait of Hormuz closed after supertanker hits mine

Iran's IRGC Navy reiterated that the Strait of Hormuz was closed after a supertanker carrying over 2 million barrels of crude oil exploded upon hitting a naval mine. The vessel had disabled its radar systems and allegedly attempted transit via an unauthorised route with US military support. Tanker identity and casualties remain unconfirmed.
