Goa seeks stricter punishment against convict Tarun Tejpal in 2013 rape case

Goa's state government moved the Supreme Court seeking enhanced punishment for rape convict and former editor of Tehelka magazine Tarun Tejpal. He was earlier sentenced to 10 years in prison by Bombay High Court's Goa bench for raping his junior colleague in 2013. The court had set aside a sessions court's judgement which acquitted Tejpal in the case in 2021.
