UP to challenge HC's order against Noida DM over activist held in workers' protest case
The Uttar Pradesh government told the Supreme Court it will challenge Allahabad High Court's order against Noida district magistrate awarding a ₹5 lakh compensation to an activist from the DM's salary. The High Court had awarded the compensation to the activist for her preventive detention under the NSA. She spent nearly five months in custody over the Noida workers’ protest.
