Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu, while presenting the state's interim Budget for 2026-2027 ahead of the Assembly election, said, "State government aiming for one trillion dollar economy, has secured ₹12.3 lakh crore investments with over 3.6 million jobs." He added, "The union government appears to leave no stone unturned to artificially precipitate a fiscal crisis in Tamil Nadu."
