Google opens smart home to third-party AI agents

Google launched Home MCP (Model Context Protocol), allowing third-party AI tools like Claude to access and control connected home devices. Features include cross-camera analysis, device state history, and voice interaction via Google Home speakers. Currently available to US Google Home Premium Advanced users, it complements but does not replace Google's existing Gemini for Home assistant.
