Rising heat melts part of runway in Indore, flights diverted

The bitumen layer on a part of Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport melted due to rising temperatures, forcing two passenger flights to be diverted to Bhopal on Monday, an official said. Airport PRO Ramswaroop Yadav told PTI that civil engineers completed the re-carpeting work within 20 minutes. Yadav explained that the bitumen layer "became looser than the prescribed standards".
