Over 1,100 employees from leading AI firms have signed a petition urging the US government to support an international mechanism that would "deliberately pace" AI development and prevent the tech from advancing too quickly. This comes after OpenAI disclosed that one of its AI tools had mistakenly hacked Hugging Face's internal systems. Signatories include employees from OpenAI, Google and Meta.
