US consumer price growth slows by 0.2% in February

US consumer prices rose 0.2% in February, lower than anticipated, but tariffs on imports are expected to push prices higher in coming months, the country's Bureau of Labor Statistics said on Wednesday. Year-on-year the CPI increased 2.8% down from January's 3%. The Federal Reserve faces challenges in meeting its 2% inflation target with tariffs raising inflation expectations.
