Japan denies reports that it agreed to accept 100,000 workers from Bangladesh

Japan has dismissed reports claiming it agreed to accept 100,000 workers from Bangladesh over the next five years. "No such fact exists, including within the discussions during the Japan-Bangladesh Summit Meeting," Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Reports had claimed Japanese authorities planned to recruit skilled Bangladeshi workers to address the country's labour shortage.
