Bitcoin crosses $80,000 for 1st time in three months

Bitcoin on Tuesday climbed above $80,000 for the first time in three months, according to CoinMarketCap data. The world's largest cryptocurrency has gained 16% since US President Donald Trump urged Congress last week to pass legislation providing clearer definitions for the sector. Bitcoin is up 28% in August, putting it on track for its biggest monthly gain since November 2024.
