What is 'sunset clause' & why India may want it in its US trade deal?

A 'sunset clause' is a legal provision that gives an agreement, law, or benefit a fixed expiry date unless renewed. Unlike most trade deals, which remain in force until a party withdraws, a sunset clause requires both sides to actively extend the arrangement. India may seek such a clause in its US trade deal due to uncertainty over US tariffs.
