MAIT denies claim of mandatory source code sharing by phone makers

Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology (MAIT) rejected a report claiming India proposed mandatory source code sharing by smartphone makers with the government. Internal documents cited in reports were meant only for member-level deliberations and MeitY has not mandated compulsory source code disclosure, MAIT clarified. Earlier, MeitY also described the report as inaccurate.
