RBI proposes doubling collateral-free MSME loan limit to ₹20 lakh

The Reserve Bank of India has proposed to raise the limit on collateral-free loans to MSMEs from ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh. The measure is expected to boost financial inclusion and improve access to formal credit for smaller enterprises. Separately, the central bank proposed to allow banks to lend to real estate investment trusts (REITs) with certain safeguards.
