What does 'slop', Merriam-Webster's word of the year, mean?

Merriam-Webster named 'slop' as the word of the year. The word's origins are traced to the 1700s when it was used to denote soft mud, but over the years, its meaning has evolved. Slop means low-quality digital content that is mass-produced mostly by using AI. "It's such an illustrative word," said Greg Barlow, Merriam-Webster's president.
