Indian equity indices extended gains for the session, ending near a two-month high with benchmark indices firmly in the green. The BSE Sensex climbed 753 points to end at 79,273, while Nifty rose 212 points to 24,577, closing above the 24,500-mark. Banking stocks led the rally, with HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank among the top contributors on BSE.
