Scientists at Florida University have identified organic compounds on Mars, including a nitrogen-containing molecule with a structure similar to compounds involved in building DNA, using NASA’s Curiosity rover. The discovery followed a chemical experiment in 2020 on Mars for the first time. The rover also detected benzothiophene, a sulfur-containing molecule often delivered by meteorites.
