Karnataka seeks ₹22,400 cr drought aid from Centre

Karnataka Deputy CM G Parameshwara has written to PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, seeking urgent release of ₹22,400.58 crore in drought relief. The revised figure follows updated SDRF/NDRF norms. Around 226 taluks and 57.93 lakh hectares of crops are affected, with economic losses estimated at ₹62,481.88 crore.
