Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their IPL 2026 opener at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. MI have won their opening match in IPL for the first time since 2012. MI also recorded their biggest-ever chase in IPL by chasing down 221-run target in 19.1 overs.
