short by Dharini Mudgal / on Wednesday, 1 January, 2025
Swami Satchidananda, head of Kerala’s Sivagiri Mutt, said the practice of men entering temples after removing their upper garment is "evil". "There's no doubt...this is an evil practice...Timely change is required in this regard," he was reported as saying by The Indian Express. The suggestion was backed by CM Pinarayi Vijayan, who said it could turn into a social revolution.
