China warned it would take "forceful measures" to protect national sovereignty after US approved $11.1 billion in arms sales to Taiwan. China's Defence Ministry urged US to "immediately cease arms sales to Taiwan" and "concretely abide by its commitment not to support 'Taiwan independence' forces". China accused separatist forces of using people's hard-earned money to enrich US arms dealers.
