In Pune's Pimpri-Waghere, a man was bitten by a stray dog while entering a housing society. The incident, captured on video, shows the dog biting the man relentlessly despite his attempts to save himself. The incident occurred on April 6. Between January and November 2024, 23,374 city residents were assaulted by dogs in Pune.

Member states of European Union on Wednesday approved 25% retaliatory tariffs on a range of US imports worth around €22 billion per year (over ₹2.10 lakh crore). Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra on Wednesday announced Monetary Policy Committee's (MPC) decision to cut the repo rate by another 25 bps to 6%. In February 2025, repo rate was cut by 25 bps to 6.25% in the first reduction since May 2020. Several economists believe RBI will bring repo rate down to 5.5% before 2025 ends.
