IMD warns of hotter and drier July

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that July this year is expected to be drier than usual, with rainfall across the country expected to be 94% of the long-period average. IMD also warned that above-normal temperatures are likely across large parts of the country. This year's June was the fifth-driest since records began in 1901.
