China is set to send police advisers to the Solomon Islands in a bid to train the latter's police force after the recent riots in the country. China will equip the Solomon Islands Police with shields, helmets, batons and other gears. The Solomon Islands witnessed anti-government riots in November amid the country's decision to establish diplomatic relations with China.
