Football coach helps village girls reach national events in Guj

Rangatji Thakor, a school teacher and football coach in Gujarat’s Mahadevpura village, started a school sports competition that grew into a grassroots football initiative. More than 100 girls have taken up the sport, with over 52 reaching national-level competitions. The village ground has become a space for girls to develop sporting skills, continue education and help prevent child marriages.
