Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, whose creations have been worn by celebrities including Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and Isha Ambani, told Bloomberg that Indian brides are no longer opting for elaborate bridal outfits. "The wedding industry in India as we know of it today is breathing its last," Mukherjee said. Modern brides are now looking for more low-key designs, he added.
