India to host Senior World Weightlifting Championships for the 1st time

The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has awarded Ahmedabad the hosting rights for Senior World Weightlifting Championships 2029. This marks the first time India will host the event. "The Commonwealth and Asian Championships were a turning point for the country. That only encouraged IWL to award the senior Worlds to India," Indian Weightlifting Federation President Sahdev Yadav said.
