India sees one of the biggest weekly expansions of its forex kitty
India's forex reserves saw their biggest weekly rise since January, jumping $14.1 billion to a four-month high of $707 billion as of August 7, RBI data showed. The rise was led by a $9.9-billion weekly gain in RBI's forex kitty, thanks to the FCNR(B) scheme. Gold reserves rose to $108.73 billion, weeks after PM Narendra Modi's 'don't buy gold' call.
