Stock markets plunged as uncertainty over Donald Trump's proposed tariffs on India rattled investors. The BSE Sensex dropped 1,235 points to 75,838, while the Nifty50 fell 320 points. Mid and small caps also suffered. Meanwhile, gold surged to a two-month high as a safe-haven asset, while the rupee ended flat after early gains.
