MoS for Atomic Energy, Jitendra Singh, on Tuesday tabled the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Bill, 2025, in the Lok Sabha. The Bill aims to end decades of state monopoly over the nuclear sector and open it to private participation. If passed by both Houses, the Bill will repeal the Atomic Energy Act, 1962.
