Singapore to pay parents ₹53 lakh per child to boost birth rate

Singapore announced a family support package to provide financial assistance of S$70,000 (nearly ₹53 lakh) for every Singaporean child till the age of 17, starting with a S$10,000 (₹7.5 lakh) baby gift. The package will include housing support, childcare subsidies, and parental leave. PM Lawrence Wong announced the measure after Singapore's fertility rate fell to record low of 0.87.
