Mark Carney, a veteran financial figure, has been chosen as country's next Prime Minister. Carney was born on March 16, 1965, in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, and raised in Edmonton. Apart from serving as the governors of Bank of Canada and Bank of England, Carney also served as United Nations' Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance starting in 2020.
