Google has launched its eighth-generation TPU AI chips, TPU 8t and TPU 8i, for AI training and inference workloads. TPU 8t is designed for large-scale model training and delivers nearly three times the compute performance of the previous generation. TPU 8i focuses on low-latency inference and features 288 GB of high-bandwidth memory with three times more on-chip SRAM.
