According to Economic Survey 2025-26, the services sector has been driving job creation in India as it added 40 million jobs in the last six years. The MSME sector employs 32.8 crore workers, and organised manufacturing jobs grew 6% year-on-year. The agricultural sector still employs 46.1% of the workforce. 56.2 crore people (aged above 15) were employed in Q2 FY26.
