Bengaluru's population is growing at an annual rate of 3.7%, while the number of vehicles is increasing at nearly 10% per year, police officials informed Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge. Kharge said an action plan would be formulated with a focus on road safety and stricter enforcement of traffic regulations. The officials said Bengaluru has around 1.25 crore registered vehicles.
